(Posted a day late)
Yesterday was great! I woke up early, again today, Texas woke up after and then Around 7 we both went to Maddi's bed, to wake her up. She so loves it.
I then headed downstairs to rinse off in the shower because I was just way too sweaty to get dressed. The showers here are so great. All are cold. But the cold feels AMAZING! I had my regular breakfast of yogurt, and a "maddi breakfast sandwich.
We headed to the shelters with the idea of bathing, however we were unable to do that because of the predicted weather. So instead we flip flopped thursday and wednesday.
We learned how to do skin scrapings, draw blood, drain abscesses, and collected a sample from the ears. I was able to try each thing. I got the blood on the first try. The skin scraping was much easier than I thought it would be, and not nearly as gross. While collecting samples we also put our findings on slides.
After collecting our samples we headed to lunch. We had a noodle dish. I didn't really enjoy it, however The other girls seemed to enjoy it. I still ate it just so I'd have something to eat. Actually, Texas fed me. Today when we went back I just ordered vegetables and rice.
After lunch we headed to Chiang Mai University. Here we planned to stain and look at our slides under the microscope. However, upon arrival we told that we could only stain the slides. The microscope was too old to use with the slides and the professor there didn't want us there. So after staining slides we headed back to Spicy Thai to shower. We then joined the other groups to go to dinner and the night market again. I think that is my favorite market. We got to go to nights in a row. While there the vet group just kinda stuck together plus we adopted Stephanie. Love that girl. We also added her to our vet group friendship circle by giving her a friendship bracelet. We also got Hannah a bracelet and added her to our group. After coming home from the market, we all crashed.
(Update 8/6)- On our way back to Spicy Addam told us we could have a choice of what we could do that night. At first we decided to just go to the movies. After our showers we learned that the EE2 group would be going to a Monk Chat. We agreed to go with them.
Also on our way home we were talking to Addam about how we learned that Hannah spoke Arabic. We asked Addam if he knew Thai fluently. He didn't and then changed the subject to find out what we wanted to do when we got back. He then skipped back to the language thing by saying: "I lived in Korea from 6-8th grade. My dad was in the military. I speak Korean. I gotta go, I have a moterbike, see you all at Spicy"....and then he left us, all of us in shock.
