Phone Post
Just some pictures from My tour in Melbourne! Gosh I miss the heat! I miss the Summer!I miss the FREEDOM!
A little bit of Rambling
Well, it's safe to say after a month of being back in winter weather I am fully adjusted and loving the winter weather!!
One reason I choose to go to school up in New England is for their wicked snowy winters! However it actually surprises me that at home "Whippany, NJ", has received MORE snow than I have in western Mass. Although they have more snow it's actually been warmer there than it has up by me. It's been FREEZING
With the below freezing weather we have, we have also gotten about 3 feet of snow all winter. and Currently it's snowing right now! It's actually BEAUTIFUL!
With all of the snow I'm guessing that it would surprise you that we have only had 1 snow day here at Becker College. Turns out that snow day was Becker's first snow day in 3 YEARS!!! And I thought Whippany Park never called snow days!!! Boy was I wrong.
Most of my friends from other colleges haven't had a full week of classes yet due to holidays or snow days. Me? I've only had 1 snow day, and 2 days of night classes cancelled. Guess I should be happy though, It certainly proves I'm getting every penny of class time in.
Well Enough of this rambling, I just thought I should post because I haven't in a while!! Hope Everyone is safe and warm!

Procrastinating!
I have to admit I should be studying for an Exam tomorrow that I haven't even started studying for, however I really feel the need to use this time to blog.
| This doesn't have anything to do with my post, but I like it! |
If you read my post back in September about my first week or so at Becker you may be wondering how I am doing my during my first few weeks back for my second Semester. (actually, honestly you probably do not care what so ever but let's pretend.)
Well, the truth is I've changed. I have noticed heaps of changes in myself since coming back for my second semester. I feel like a part of me changed while being in Australia. I feel more confident in myself and what I do. I have seen myself become a little bit more outgoing. I have also seen myself be selfish and do things for my self rather than waiting around for other people. I have also seen myself "live".
I'll be the first to admit I am a people pleaser. I like to make everyone happy and keep them happy, even if it means not letting myself be happy. After separating from Elizabeth for a week in Australia to do things for myself, I've learned that now is the time in my life to make myself happy and to do things for myself. -No this doesn't mean I wont care about others or stop feeling bad when I've done something wrong.- My new Years Resolution is to do the things that I wanna do, not because someone else is doing them. Of course when given the opportunity to I'll do the things that people don't wanna do but end up loving.
I've seen my self become more outgoing since being back at school as well. I think it has something to do with the French mate at the Hostel. Who told me "don't be quiet, but don't not be yourself, talk to people, but make sure to listen as well, don't hold back, but don't do anything to kill yourself. If you sit and take everything in, you wont have fun, if you put yourself out of your comfort zone, you'll make good mates. Everyone else is in the same boat, or has been, there is no judgement here. We are all the same, and where we are different, that is what makes us backpackers connect." Well, I took his advice and I made lots of new mates, and buds. And now being back at Becker I have applied it to my peers. I am still shy, and quiet but I'm really trying to engage in conversations and be that outgoing person who people know I am once they know me.
Lastly since being back I've really created some strong bonds with people at school. There are some friends from first semester that I feel a bit distanced from, but there are heaps that I've grown closer to. Over the last 2 weeks I've been a dash under the healthy bar. I've had a cough and chest pains (lungs). The health center ended up sending me to the ER. (Yes, seriously a cough, I really was't given a choice, LAST time I go there when I'm sick!) Nicole and Marissa came with me and thanks to Marissa I didn't have to go through Becker for transportation, and thanks to Nicole, I wasn't alone. And every day since I told one person I about the pain in my chest she has checked on me everyday. The friends I've made over the last few months have been extremely amazing and I'm thankful for them all, even if I did end up getting two of them sick. (although the only symptom I have that they do is a cough, so maybe they are just sick, because I was told I wasn't contagious.)

Last weekend with Aussie
Out last weekend with Aussie and Jody was spent very nicely. Saturday We went snorkeling again.
I love it so much! I think a part of it has to do with I am better at it(if thats possible) than Elizabeth. Or I just enjoy it more. The only thing I didn't like was how cold the water was. But I absolutely love the snorkeling.
That night us girls went out to Kiama again. I had another good night out and met some pretty rocking people!! :)
Sunday we went out with Aussie on her friend's boat. That was one of my favorite days. Just relaxing and wake surfing off the boat! :)
Camping:
Our second Attempt at camping was much much better than the first. We headed to a state forest to go 4 wheeling in the out back.
This time the girls traveled in Aussie's jeep..... Because she bought a jeep! And Jody took his dirt bike!
After a bit we found a great area to set up camp. As camp was being set up I walked around a bit with Axel.
Elizabeth Joined us on a walk to a little creek! Where the 3 of us each took a pee!
After relaxing back at camp for a bit dinner was cooked. Just when the pasta was ready Aussie went to drain the water. But she didn't expect the weight of the pasta to shift as much as it did and a quarter of the pasta ended up on the ground.
It was pretty priceless and a great laugh!!! No really we still laugh about it!
Later on we made S'mores and had some good chats.
The next day we had breakfast and then packed up camp.
We then headed to Belanglo State Forest. The one where "the backpack killer" dumped his bodies. It was a pretty cool forest. Especially with all the bike tracks.
For lunch we stopped at a Diner for lunch. The owner was hysterical! I really enjoyed that little place! The food was good too!
Around 6:30 we headed to the beach for a swim! I of course swam the whole time! Actually I did handstands most of the time.
I'm really really going to miss the beaches here! So i'm soaking it up while I've got it!!

The past week?
Our first camping trip was a fail when we couldn't find somewhere to camp. But we went off roading which was fun.
We also visited the most beautiful beach that I've ever seen. The sand was white and squeaky and the water was crystal clear. It was pretty cool to swim there because there were a few sting rays!!
The following day I went on my first hiking trek. I had heaps of fun on it. I plan on doing more treks in the states when it warms up. We walked the Wadi Wadi trail. It was fairly easy, however I ended up being covered in mud.
New years Eve Day We spend at farm beach. The water was a bit cold and rough, but I still swam a few minutes. We didn't stay long so that we could prepare for our night in Sydney. I am thrilled that I was able to go out and party on New Years. I really had a great night!
New years Day- that was spend just relaxing with a movie night. The Heat=hilarious! Wolf Creek- not too scary, but sill a tad bit scarey because it's true.Well I write a different post on camping later!!!
